Which students will have to give practical exam?
According to the rules of the board, it is mandatory for some private students to give practical examination. This includes those students of the year 2025 whose practical marks are not available because they had repeated (RP) in practical, repeated (RB) in both theory and practical or were absent. Apart from this, such students of 2024 and those students of 2023 or earlier who have applied again for the respective subjects in private category are also included.
Where and how will the examinations be held?
According to the notice, practical examinations will be conducted between February 23 and March 17, 2026. These examinations will be held at the same examination centers which have been fixed for the theory examination. The board has also said that the examination centers will have to upload the marks of the students by the prescribed last date. Theory examinations of class 10th and 12th will start from 17th February 2026. The practical examinations of private students will start from 23 February 2026 and will continue till 17 March 2026. The last date for uploading marks will be as per the time decided by the board.

CBSE Board has said that the Regional Director or officer will appoint an external examiner for all the students of class 12th. Whereas the Internal Examiner will be appointed by the Superintendent of the concerned examination center from among the teachers of his school. If concerned teachers are not available in the school, teachers will be appointed from nearby schools. The board said that only the answer books sent by the regional office will be used for the practical examination. Apart from this, the examiners have been instructed to fill all the information in the answer sheets correctly and carefully.
What are the rules on project and internal assessment?
CBSE has said that there will be no project or internal assessment in the subjects which do not have practical part. In such a situation, the theory of project or internal assessment marks 2026 Examination Will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in pro-rata manner.
