Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will make strict security arrangements at the examination centers to ensure peaceful and cheating-free conduct of Class 10th and 12th board examinations. Police arrangements will be mandatory at all exam centres, sub-centres and confidential material protection centers during the examination. In this regard, necessary instructions have been given by the Education Department by sending letters to the Superintendents of Police and Police Commissioners of all the districts.
Special security at main examination centers
Special instructions have been given for security arrangements at the main examination centres. At least 2 policemen will be deployed at every main examination centre. There will be police arrangements from one day before the commencement of the examination till the end of the examination. There will be police presence at the main examination centers from 3 am to 8 pm, while at the sub-centres from 9:30 am to 8 pm.

Instructions have also been given to deploy additional police forces at sensitive examination centres. Deploying female policemen at examination centers will be mandatory. Students will be searched by women police before entering the examination hall. Without admit card, no student will be given entry to the exam center. However, the Education Department has given clear instructions to the police officers that the policemen should not enter the exam rooms without any reason.
Section 144 and Section 37 applied during board exams
Section 144 and Section 37 of Mumbai Police Act will be imposed as per need at sensitive examination centres. There will be a ban on the use of mobile phones, laptops, tablets, fax machines and other electronic devices in the examination center premises.
Strict instructions regarding question paper
Strict instructions have also been given regarding the security of question papers of board exams. Question papers will be distributed from district level custody centres, where conditional police force will be deployed. The process of opening and closing the seals of question papers will take place in the presence of police. Its time and date will be recorded in the register. Police protection will be mandatory even while sending the answer sheets to the post office after the examination.
Live monitoring will be done through CCTV
The board has asked from all the schools the complete details of the CCTV cameras installed in the examination centres. Schools have been instructed to provide the login ID, admin ID and password of CCTV connection to the board. For this, schools have been instructed to fill the Google form. This will enable live monitoring during the examination and immediate action can be taken on any cheating or irregularity.
About 15 lakh students will appear for 12th board exam
Around 15 lakh students can appear for the Maharashtra Board 12th examination starting from February 10. Students need to carry their Maharashtra HSC Hall Ticket 2026 and School ID Card. According to the released time table, Maharashtra HSC exam will be held in two shifts till March 11. The first shift of MSBSHSE will be from 11 am to 2 pm and the second shift will be from 3 pm to 6 pm.
For Maharashtra HSC board exam, students are allowed to write the paper in English, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu, Sindhi (Arabic or Devanagari script) or Hindi as per the rules of the board. Whereas papers of Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Pali and Ardhamagadhi will have to be written in Devanagari script. Students are advised to rely only on the official website for any information related to the board exams. Beware of swindlers passing along money. If any such call or message comes, immediately inform the school or regional police station.
