Trade Deal:’Not self-reliant, dependent on Trump’; Kapil Sibal cornered the government on trade agreement with America – Not Self-reliant, Dependent On Trump’; Kapil Sibal Attacks The Government On The Trade Deal With America

Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the central government over the India-US interim trade agreement. He sarcastically said that the government which talks about making the country self-reliant, now seems to be dependent on Trump.

Serious allegations against the government

At the press conference, Sibal alleged that the government has agreed to align India’s foreign and economic policies with the US, which has never happened before in the country’s history. Citing US executive orders, he said punitive tariffs of 25 per cent could be reimposed if India continues to buy Russian oil.

What did you say on Seva Teerth?

Referring to the inauguration of Seva Teerth, Dutva Bhawan-1 and 2 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sibal asked what duty the Prime Minister has performed towards the country in the last 11 years. He said that constructing buildings is a good thing, but accountability on governance and policies is also necessary.

What is the claim on trade deal?

Sibal also claimed that the government has agreed to buy goods and services worth $500 billion from the US in the next five years and the Prime Minister should come to Parliament and give a clear statement on this entire agreement. He also targeted BJP and said that the party knows how to win elections but not how to rule.
