A slight increase in India’s exports has been recorded in the month of January. Commerce Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal said that the country’s exports have increased by 0.61 percent to US $ 36.56 billion in January. This increase is being considered a positive sign amidst global challenges.
He also informed that in the current financial year, from April to January, total exports have increased by 2.22 percent to US $ 366.63 billion. The government says that the continuously increasing exports are strengthening the country’s economy and India’s position in the international market is improving.

An Indian team will go to America
Along with this, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Aggarwal said that an Indian team will go to America next week so that the legal documents for the interim trade agreement to be signed in March can be finalized. This journey is likely to start from 23rd February.
He said that this month India and the US issued a joint statement finalizing the framework of the interim trade agreement. Now this framework remains to be converted into a legal agreement, which will be signed between the two parties.

Darpan Jain will visit America
The Commerce Secretary also said that both the countries are busy finalizing this legal agreement and virtual talks are also taking place for this. Next week, India’s chief negotiating representative Darpan Jain will visit America and finalize this legal agreement.
