New Delhi/New York: Indian industrialist Anil Ambani’s name has surfaced in a new batch of documents related to American financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to these documents released by the US Justice Department and a media report, there was contact between Anil Ambani and Epstein from 2017 to 2019.
What is the whole matter?
Documents related to books, films and Hollywood connections in the Epstein case show that Epstein ordered the books “Ambani and Sons” and “Storms in the Sea Wind: Ambani vs. Ambani” in March 2017 to understand the history and influence of the Ambani family. According to the report, in the alleged messages between Anil Ambani and Epstein on March 9, 2017, there was a discussion on making the meeting interesting. According to the documents, when Anil Ambani asked, “Who do you suggest?”, Epstein replied, “A tall Swedish blonde, so that would be a fun date.” Anil Ambani’s reply to this came within just 20 seconds: “Arrange it.”
What happened about Meryl Streep and Scarlett Johansson?
Apart from this, there was also discussion between the two about women and Hollywood actresses. In a 2017 conversation, Epstein joked that he couldn’t help Meryl Streep’s case. To this Ambani replied, “My friend, better choice…our next film is with Scarlett Johansson.” At that time Reliance Entertainment was the co-producer of the film ‘Ghost in the Shell’. To this Epstein commented, “I’m glad you like young blondes rather than old ones”.
Claim of exchange of messages between the two
According to documents related to the meeting in New York and Deepak Chopra’s input, Anil Ambani met Epstein at his Manhattan residence during a visit to New York in May 2019 (a few months before Epstein’s arrest). After the meeting, Epstein messaged, “Today was a treat.” According to the documents, text messages between Ambani and a phone number linked to Epstein also show that they were discussing meeting in Paris later that year – but did not meet each other – and that they were chatting about Donald Trump’s response to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in January 2018.
Did Ampani and Epstein meet?
When Ambani said he would be in New York in May 2019, Epstein invited him to meet. “And if you’d like to meet some people in person, let me know,” Epstein wrote. Epstein’s aides confirmed the two met at his home on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the documents show. Famous motivation speaker Deepak Chopra is also mentioned in these documents. Asked by Epstein in 2017, Chopra described Anil Ambani as “very rich, very hungry for notice, and celebrity conscious.” He also said that “the two brothers do not get along”. Currently, there is no comment from Anil Ambani or his representative on the revelations in this entire matter. Anil Ambani has been facing huge financial crisis and legal challenges in the last few years, and his net worth has declined drastically.
Jeffrey Epstein was convicted in Florida in 2008 of providing minors for prostitution. Even after that he continued his access and luxurious lifestyle for years. He enjoyed access to some of the wealthiest people in the world and a luxurious lifestyle until he was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019, and then reportedly committed suicide while in custody.
