Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the delivery ceremony of military transport aircraft C295 to the Defense Ministry from the Tata-Airbus assembly line in Vadodara, Gujarat in the second half of this year. This information was given by Airbus President (International) and Executive Committee member Wouter van Wersch to journalists during the Singapore Airshow on Wednesday.
The C295 is the first Made in India military aircraft to roll off the Vadodara assembly line. The project is being run under a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Airbus.
About 70 percent of the parts used in aircraft manufacturing are procured from India, while the remaining 30 percent are imported. These also include the engine, which is sourced from Connecticut-headquartered Pratt & Whitney.
India has made the full payment of US$ 35.18 million for the 2026 regular budget of the United Nations (UN) on time. With this, India has joined the honor roll of 47 member countries who have paid their regular budget in full within the 30-day period prescribed under the financial rules of the United Nations.
