Welcoming the delegates on social media platform X, PM Modi said that it is a matter of pride for India for people from all over the world to come to this summit and it shows the potential of the youth of the country. He said that this occasion is a testimony to the fact that India is making rapid progress in the field of science and technology and making significant contributions to global development.

The country stands at the forefront of AI transformation today

The PM further said that because of the collective power of 1.4 billion Indians, the country stands at the forefront of AI transformation today. He cited digital public infrastructure, strong startup ecosystem and cutting-edge research as the key strengths of India’s AI progress. He stressed that India’s rapid progress in the field of AI reflects not only ambition but also responsibility.



Why is AI Impact Summit special?

The AI ​​India Impact Expo, running from February 16 to 20, is being organized along with the summit and is being seen as a national showcase of the practical uses of artificial intelligence. Global tech companies, startups, educational institutions, research organizations, central ministries, state governments and international partners will participate in the 10 arenas of this expo spread over an area of ​​about 70,000 square meters.



The expo also has pavilions from 13 countries, including Australia, Japan, Russia, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and African countries, which will showcase international collaboration in the AI ​​ecosystem.



The event will feature over 300 curated exhibition pavilions and live demos on the theme ‘People, Planet and Progress’, showcasing the wide-ranging impact of AI across sectors. More than 600 high-potential startups are also participating, working on AI solutions that can be implemented at the population level.

According to organizers, the expo is expected to attract over 2.5 lakh visitors, while over 3,250 speakers and panelists will participate in over 500 sessions throughout the event. Additionally, it is the first international AI summit held in the Global South, which aims to chart the course for an inclusive, responsible and impactful AI future.

Under the India AI Mission, 12 indigenous foundation models will also be introduced, trained on Indian data sets and tailored to the country’s 22 official languages. Experts believe that this summit can prove to be an important step towards global partnership, innovation and technological leadership for India’s AI market which is expected to exceed $17 billion by 2027.
