Special features of street racing
First of all, if we tell you about street racing, in this wonderful format of motorsports, the race is not done on any stadium or track, but by temporarily converting the common roads of a city or the runway or terminal area of the airport into a race track. In street racing, all teams are given the same cars, which are Ligier JS F422. These cars have a 1.3 liter turbocharged Alpine engine. Since the street layout in this race is quite narrow, driving skills matter a lot and team strategy comes in handy while racing. In street racing, skill and strategy play a greater role than speed.
Women also participate in racing
Men and women participate together in street racing. Each team has 4 drivers, which include an experienced driver at the international level, an emerging global talent, an Indian driver and a female driver. The special thing is that this special format of racing has also been created to promote the participation of women in racing.
2.064 km track and 12 sharp turns
Now if we tell you about Goa Street Racing 2026, a 2.064 kilometer long track has been built for it at Manohar International Airport in Goa on 14-15 February 2026. The race will take place on an FIA-grade street circuit. This track has 12 turns, which has been designed in such a way that the race will have the thrill of close competition, late braking and constant changing of positions. There is very little difference in points between the teams, so every lap on this circuit can decide the story of the championship.
teams of big personalities
Let us tell you that the objective of Indian Racing Festival’s street racing is to make motorsports accessible to the common people and not just a game of the rich. In this, there is a tremendous combination of speed along with the glamor of Bollywood and cricket stars.
