Tata sold more than 70 thousand cars in January 2026

A total of 23,365 units of this sub-4 meter compact SUV were sold in 31 days of January and this number is an increase of 52 percent year-on-year. Tata Nexon sold 15,397 units in January last year. Customers can buy Nexon in petrol and diesel as well as CNG and electric powertrain options.
Sales of new Tata Punch pick up pace
Punch was the second best selling SUV of Tata Motors in the month of January. The facelift model of Tata Punch has been launched only last month, which has better looks and features. The new Tata Punch sold 19,257 units last month and this figure shows a year-on-year growth of 19 percent. In January last year, 16,231 units of Tata Punch were sold.

Tata Motors’ powerful midsize SUV Harrier sold a total of 3,711 units in the last month, i.e. January 2026, and this is an annual increase of 149 percent. In January last year, 1,488 units of Tata Harrier were sold. Recently, Harrier has also been introduced in petrol engine option, which is attracting customers due to power and performance as well as mileage.
Demand for Tata Safari also increased by 53 percent
Tata Motors’ 5th best selling SUV Safari sold a total of 2,375 units in the month of January. The sales of this powerful 7 seater SUV from Tata Motors showed an annual growth of 53 percent last month, because only 1,548 units of Safari SUV were sold in January 2025. Tata Motors has now introduced Safari with petrol engine option and this has increased the pace of sales.
