Heavy rains have caused a huge gap in the Ambika river bridge in Ganadevi taluka of Navsari, affecting traffic. Roads and Buildings Department has started immediate repairs and diverted for safety.
Navsari Rain: Amidst the rains that have been falling for the last three days in Navsari district, a big gap has appeared on the bridge of Ambika river passing through Gandevi taluk. As soon as the incident was reported, a team including senior officials of the road and building department immediately rushed to the spot with a convoy. Where under the direct supervision of the officials, the work of digging up the affected road on the bridge and filling the gaps and cracks has been started on a war footing.
Monsoon has started in the state and Meghmeher is being seen especially in South Gujarat, in Navsari district, there has been a big gap in the bridge of Ambika river passing through Gandevi taluka amid rainy conditions.
The gap in this main bridge connecting Bilimora and Amalsad has created an atmosphere of great fear among motorists and local citizens. Geographically, this bridge is very important for this parish. Thousands of people from around 11 villages in the surrounding countryside use this bridge daily to enter Belimora town and for employment.
As soon as the incident was reported, a team including senior officials of the road and building department immediately rushed to the scene with a convoy. Under the direct supervision of the officials, the work of digging up the affected road on the bridge and filling the gaps and cracks has been started on a war footing. At present, caution boards have been put up on the bridge giving necessary diversions so that sufficient traffic is not affected and the safety of citizens is maintained.
