Maharashtra tet paper leak: The education world is in a frenzy after the question papers of TET to be held in Maharashtra on June 28, 2026 were leaked just a day before the exam. Following the shocking incident of paper leak from Thane area, the education department has taken a major decision to cancel this important examination to be held across the state with immediate effect.
Police action and detention
The Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSCE) conducted the TET examination on June 28 at various examination centers across the state. However, a day before the examination i.e. on the morning of June 27, the Maharashtra Police got a very secret and specific information about the leak of this paper. Based on this information, the police became active and raided a possible location in Thane.
During the procedure, the police took possession of the leaked question paper. Top officials of the Maharashtra State Examinations Council (MSCE) were also immediately called to the spot by the police for a thorough investigation of the serious matter, so as to ensure the authenticity of the paper. The police have so far detained several suspects in connection with this scam and are conducting intensive interrogation.
Big decision of education department
As soon as the question paper was officially confirmed to have been leaked, the education department held an emergency meeting to maintain the transparency and credibility of the exam. In this meeting, it was decided to cancel the TET exam on June 28. According to the Education Department, the department will soon organize an official press conference, in which all the detailed information about the incident will be made available to the general public and candidates. Along with this, the new and revised time table for the exam will also be announced soon.
A police investigation to get to the root of the scam
Currently, the Maharashtra Police is conducting round-the-clock investigations to get to the root of this entire racket. The police administration is mainly investigating where and how this highly confidential question paper was tampered with. A thorough investigation is also being carried out as to which masterminds are behind this criminal act and whether any internal staff of the Education Department or Examination Council or other big personalities are involved in this racket.
The education department has appealed to the lakhs of candidates who have been troubled by this unexpected incident to be patient and assured that all the official details and new exam dates will be announced soon.
