Surat News: Surat City Crime Branch has busted a notorious Vadodara rickshaw gang targeting senior citizen women. The crime branch has arrested a total of 4 people including two men and two women of this gang. With this arrest, the police have succeeded in solving major theft crimes registered at Uttran Police Station in Surat and Palam Vihar Police Station in Gurugram, Haryana.

According to information, on 07/06/2026, 75-year-old Jayaben Jeevanbhai Mujani was sitting in an unknown rickshaw from Kapodra Char Rasta to take his daughter home from there. A man and a woman were already sitting in this rickshaw. After the rickshaw started, these persons knocked the old man unconscious with some unknown object and stole two gold bangles weighing approximately 25 grams, worth Rs 1,25,000/- from his hands. Then the gang took the old man down to the VIP. She got off near the circle and ran away. A case was registered in Uttran police station regarding this.

Following this serious incident with a senior citizen woman, the team of Surat city crime branch also joined the investigation, while the crime branch team got an important link that two men and one woman came to Surat in an auto rickshaw bearing GJ-06 Parsig from Vadodara and escaped after committing this crime and the police was investigating in that direction. On 20/06/2026, Ashaben Kishorebhai Devipujak and Sangitaben Govindbhai Devipujak were arrested from Jahangirpura area on 20/06/2026 for targeting women and stealing gold jewelery and handed them over to Utran police for further investigation.
