The country’s biggest medical entrance exam NEET UG 2026 Online registrations have started. This exam for admission to MBBS, Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha medical courses will be held on May 3. Applications for this can be made till March 8. The correction window will be from March 10-12. The paper will be of total 3 hours duration, the timing of the paper will be from 2 pm to 5 pm.
96 to 97 percent of those who apply give the exam
National Testing Agency (NTA) got the responsibility of conducting NEET (UG) in 2019. The number of applications in this medical entrance test is increasing every year and new records are being created. More than 24 lakh applications were made in 2024. now in the country MBBS course seats are increasing and this is a single entrance test, on the basis of which admission is given in medical courses. This is the exam of NTA which has the highest attendance. 96 to 97 percent of those who apply take the exam. Registration and attendance were low in 2020 during the time of Covid but since then it has been continuously increasing.
1 minute for 1 question, 180 questions from three subjects
The timing of this exam will be from 2 pm to 5 pm. Talking about the exam pattern, all the questions will be MCQ based. There will be 180 minutes time. In this way there will be one minute time for each question. There will be 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry and 90 questions from Biology.
There will also be negative marking
Students have to answer all the questions. There will also be negative marking. For every correct question, 4 marks will be deducted and for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. Four marks will be given for the correct answer and one mark will be deducted for the wrong answer. If a student does not answer any question i.e. does not attempt that question then he will not get marks in that question nor will the marks be deducted.
