New Delhi: As per the tradition of ICC, before the start of T20 World Cup 2026, a photoshoot of all the captains was organized, but this time this photoshoot has become the cause of more controversies than discussion. Due to the event being held in two different countries, ICC had to shoot it at two different locations in Mumbai and Colombo. During this period, captains of some countries were present in Mumbai, while some captains had to get shot in Colombo. Due to the distance between the two countries, the ICC had to seek technical help to bring all the captains together.

Why is there no Pakistani captain in Afghanistan’s post?

After the end of this photoshoot, Afghanistan Cricket Board shared a picture on its social media, which caught everyone’s attention. In this picture, only captains of 12 countries were seen together and Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga was not included in it. After this, a discussion started among the fans on social media whether Afghanistan has deliberately not shared the photo with the Pakistani captain. However, the reality was that the picture was only of the group of captains present in Mumbai and Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga was in Colombo.

ICC released perfect frame of 20 captains

In view of the growing confusion over the photoshoot, ICC later released a specially edited picture. In this photo, through graphic and creative editing, the captains of all 20 countries are shown with the World Cup trophy in the same frame. Since some captains were in Mumbai and some in Colombo, ICC took the help of this digital medium to present the tournament simultaneously. This official picture of ICC finally put an end to the controversies going on on social media.
