Videsh Abhyas Loan Yojana: Education is the key to progress, and financial limitations should never be a barrier when it comes to getting this education globally. Gujarat government is moving firmly in this direction.
The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has worked diligently to turn global dreams into reality by providing financial assistance to promising students from deprived and scheduled castes who want to pursue higher education abroad so that even the students from the remotest and underprivileged sections of the state can pursue higher education in world renowned universities.
Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare under Department of Social Justice and Empowerment ‘Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Videsh Vidyas Loan Sahay Yojana’ is today brightening the future of children from many middle class and economically weaker families. As a result of this scheme, youths are making Gujarat’s name bright on the global stage by overcoming their economic limitations.
By availing the benefit of this scheme, the bright youth of Thangarh and Dhrangadhra in Surendranagar district have turned their dreams of studying abroad into reality. Solanki Akshay Kumar Govindbhai, a native of Thangarh, said that he wanted to advance in the medical field since childhood.
Under the Gujarat Government’s Foreign Study Assistance Scheme, he was given Rs. 15 lakhs financial assistance has been received, due to which today he is receiving medical education at ‘West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov Medical University’ in Kazakhstan. Akshatkumar got emotional and said that my dream of studying abroad has come true only with this financial assistance from the government, for which I sincerely thank the Gujarat government.
Similarly another young man Ritvik Solanki from Dhrangadhra is also getting education across seven seas in America through this scheme. Rudra Solanki also got Rs. 15 lakh loan assistance has been sanctioned. Currently, he is studying in the prestigious ‘Penn State University’ (Penn State University) of America.
Expressing his gratitude to the government, Rudra said that the dream which seemed impossible due to financial difficulties, has been made possible by this welfare scheme of the Gujarat government. Due to this encouragement, he has been able to concentrate on his studies today without any mental stress.
Embodying the principle of upliftment of the underprivileged and social harmony, this scheme of the Gujarat government provides a new boost to the confidence of the youth. The state government is making higher education opportunities accessible to students from scheduled castes and other backward classes, so that no bright student is deprived of progress due to lack of funds. Due to these welfare policies of the government every year many students are going abroad for higher studies in fields like medical, engineering and management.
Various scholarships, foreign loans and welfare schemes run for the upliftment of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes are successfully reaching the masses today.
The success of these two youths from Surendranagar is a proof that given the right opportunity and government support, even the youth from underprivileged communities can prove their talent on the global platform. Thus, under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, Gujarat is making a leading contribution in ‘Building a New India’ by empowering its youth at global level.
