Vadodara Firing Case: The Vadodara Rural Police has achieved a major breakthrough in the high profile case of fatal firing on a trader near Waghodia Chowkdi in Vadodara. A police investigation has revealed that the incident was no ordinary attack, but a ‘contract killing’ plot hatched in Fiji. The police have arrested two main accused from Durg district of Chhattisgarh and busted the entire conspiracy.

Considering the seriousness of the incident, the district police formed 10 teams of LCB, SOG and Varnama police. The police scrutinized more than 2 thousand CCTV footages and managed to track down the accused with the help of technical surveillance.

Police investigation revealed that the injured businessman was earlier working as a finance manager in Jai Dayal’s steel company. He plotted the murder to avenge a financial dispute with the company’s owner, Jai Dayal.

In this case, Jai Dayal living in Fiji hatched the main conspiracy to kill the businessman and assigned the responsibility to Vikram Pratap Singh. Jai Dayal transferred 2.72 lakh rupees to the account of the accused for carrying out this crime and purchasing arms and other expenses.

Gurjit Singh Bhatti, the main shooter involved in this incident, also has a serious criminal history, it has been revealed in the investigation that he was involved in 19 different crimes earlier. Police have also recovered one pistol, two magazines and 10 live cartridges from the accused during the operation, which proves the seriousness of the conspiracy.

The accused fled from Chhattisgarh by train after carrying out the incident. One of the accused was about to flee abroad on July 7, but the police issued a lookout notice and arrested both of them. At present, the police is taking action to bring the main sutradhar Jai Dayal under the law. In this case, a major conspiracy has been foiled due to police vigilance.
