Jagran correspondent, Aligarh. The journey from Uttar Pradesh to Haryana is soon going to become easier. The construction work of the new highway from Aligarh to Palwal has now gained momentum. More than 20 percent work has been completed. National Highway Authority (NHAA)EThe target has been set to complete this ambitious project under the supervision of ) in the next one and a half years.
Once the construction is completed, traffic from Aligarh to Delhi-NCR, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram and other cities of Haryana will become faster and safer.
Widening of Aligarh-Palwal road has gained momentum, land has been taken from 31 villages of the district.
For the project, land has been acquired from about 1.5 thousand farmers of 31 villages of the district. The administration has almost completed the land acquisition process. Out of the total proposed compensation of Rs 650 crore, about Rs 500 crore has already been distributed to the farmers. The remaining payment process is in the final stages. This 75 kilometer long highway is being developed.

Approximately Rs 1500 crore will be spent on this. In this, new bypasses are being built more than 30 kilometers in length. Well, many towns including Jattari are being connected by bypass, so that heavy traffic does not enter the cities. Bypass construction in the area is progressing rapidly and is being completed on priority basis.
Regional connectivity will get a boost
This highway will connect to the interchange of Yamuna Expressway at Tappal and Eastern Peripheral Expressway at Palwal. With this, Aligarh will be directly connected to the major expressway network of the National Capital Region. This is expected to give new impetus to industrial, logistics and business activities.
Repair of old road also continues
While on one hand new fourlane and bypass construction is going on, on the other hand the old roads within the towns have become dilapidated. Due to potholes and damaged parts, accidents and traffic jams are occurring every day. In view of this, a budget of Rs 84 crore was released to the Public Works Department. Now this work is also being done at a fast pace.
Toll and four lane expansion plan
Under the project, a toll plaza is proposed near Rajpura village. About 33 km long four lane bypass is being built in Khair and Jattari. Apart from this, widening of 10 kilometer road from Khair to Andla and three kilometer road in Jattari area is also included in the plan. The construction work in Haryana border area is being done by CDS Company.
