Jagran Team, Gorakhpur. The terror of thieves continues; on Saturday night, thieves broke the locks of six locked houses and took away cash and jewellery. In this, theft took place in four houses of Rampur Gadri of Gola police station. The second incident took place in two houses located at some distance from Sahjanwan police station. The footage of the suspected thieves is also captured in the CCTV cameras installed nearby.

Among the people living in these houses, some had gone to marriage procession and some live in the village or outside. There is an atmosphere of panic in the village due to this incident. The continuous incidents of theft are also exposing the police patrolling.

Santosh Dubey, resident of Rampur Gadri of Gola police station, had come to a wedding ceremony in the city along with his family. Dayanath Dubey, a teacher living in the neighbourhood, has gone to Gujarat to see his ailing son. Kailash Dubey lives in Mumbai. The thieves broke the locks of the three houses and took away cash and jewelery from the cupboard inside. On getting information on Monday morning, Sonu Dubey, living in Varanasi, also feared theft in his locked house.

When he sent a relative to investigate in the afternoon, the lock of his house was also found broken. When Santosh Dubey lodged a complaint in Gola police station in connection with the theft, the police registered a case against an unknown person and promised to expose him soon. The other three have not reached home yet. Village head representative Harekrishna Dwivedi said that three suspicious youths have been seen in the CC cameras installed in the village.

They reached the village at 12:58 pm and changed the direction of the camera from 1:03 to 1:34 am. Faces are not clearly visible due to dense fog, but the entire activity is recorded on camera. Brijanandan Tripathi, resident of Narang Patti of Sahjanwa police station, lives in a built house in ward number nine Ghanshyam city of Nagar Panchayat.

After his father’s death, he went to the village with his family. On Sunday night, thieves climbed the roof and broke the glass and mesh and entered inside. The gold and silver jewelery kept in the house was taken away. This incident, which took place just 300 meters away from the police station, is also captured in the CC camera. A suspect is seen carrying bamboo. Two suspects from the victim’s side have been arrested and handed over to the police.

The police is interrogating him. Utkarsh Pandey, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, lives in a house in ward number five Sahabajganj of Nagar Panchayat. He had also gone to the village with his family, the same night thieves entered the house and took away jewelery along with cash. When the neighbors informed them after seeing the lock broken, Utkarsh reached the spot and informed the police.

Incidents of theft from January 2026 till now

  • A case of theft in Bankata village on January 4, 2026 is pending in Gola police station.
  • A case of theft involving Bistouli elder on January 8 is pending in Belipar police station.
  • The case of theft that took place on January 6, 9 and 12 is still pending in Gagaha police station.
  • Two theft incidents took place in Sahjanwan police station on January 7 and 8.
  • The case of theft in rice mill in Harpur Budhat police station has been exposed.

A total of four theft incidents took place in Pipraich police station, out of which two were thefts. In Campierganj police station, maximum theft took place from 11 shops. In this, theft took place in three shops on the night of 22 January. Cash theft from a fruit shop on the night of 28 January. There was theft in three shops on the night of 30 January. On the night of February 2, an attempt was made to steal from two shops. On February 4, theft took place in two shops. All cases are still pending.

55 theft cases are also pending for the years 2024 and 25.
The police remains careless regarding the theft case. Only a month has passed in the year 2026, but thieves have committed theft by breaking the locks of 23 houses and shops. In this, only Harpur Budhat police has exposed the theft case and made an arrest.

Whereas in the previous year 2024, a total of 12 theft incidents took place at different places in Gola police station area. None of these cases could be exposed. Apart from this, 43 incidents of theft are to be exposed in the year 2025.
