Solar power: A massive 22,000 MW roadmap

The state government has set an ambitious target of producing 22,000 MW solar power in the next five years:

• Distribution of Production: Of this, 6,000 MW will be obtained from rooftop solar, 14,000 MW from solar parks and 2,000 MW through PM-KUSUM scheme.

• Rooftop Solar: Under the policy, state subsidy will be provided to 13.50 lakh houses by connecting them with rooftop solar.

• Historical Growth: In 2017, the solar capacity of the state was only 288 MW, which has now increased 10 times. 2,815 MW Has reached.

Ayodhya will become model solar city

Government is developing major cities of Uttar Pradesh as ‘Solar Cities’:

• Ayodhya Model: The work of developing Ayodhya as a model solar city is on priority.

• Solar City Expansion: Apart from Ayodhya, 16 municipal corporations and Noida are also being made solar cities.

• Skill Development: In this area, 30,000 youth are being trained and prepared for the maintenance of solar energy.

Bio energy: UP becomes the top state of the country

With the successful implementation of Bio Energy Policy-2022, Uttar Pradesh has become the leader of the country in bio-waste management and production:

• CBG Production: UP ranks first in the country with Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) production capacity of 213 tonnes per day.

• Multidimensional Benefits: Establishment of bio-coal, bio-diesel and bio-ethanol is being continuously encouraged.

Annadata farmers are being connected to solar energy through PM-Kusum scheme.

• Pump Solarization: Solarization of 3,024 agricultural pumps was done in the years 2023-24 and 2024-25.

• Feeder Solarization: In the second phase, work has been allotted for solar projects with a capacity of 1,586.44 MW at 567 substations.
