Jagran correspondent, Rampur. While exposing the incident of strangulation of Rafat Shaheen, wife of a cloth merchant, in Tanda, the police arrested the woman accused of murder, Gulfsha, and sent her to jail. Injuries and scratch marks were found on the chest and stomach of the accused.

Gulfsha’s sister lived in the neighborhood of the deceased. Due to this, he had to come and go to the deceased’s house. The murder accused also attended Tablighi Jamaat at the deceased’s house. Gulfsha also arranged relationships between people.

Six months ago, he had also arranged the marriage of Rafat Shaheen’s son, which later broke. There was sourness between Gulfsha and Rafat regarding this. Police suspect that a fight broke out between the two on Saturday over this and Gulfsha strangled her to death.

This is the whole matter

Harish, resident of Mohalla Najjupura of Tanda, has a clothes shop in the Masjid Contractor’s street, at some distance from his house. He sits with his father at the shop. Both were sitting at the shop even on Saturday afternoon. Harish’s mother Rafat Shaheen, 65, was alone at home.

At around 2.30 in the afternoon, they got information that Rafat Shaheen was lying unconscious in the house. As soon as Harish reached home after getting the information, his mother was lying on the bed. When he called out and shook it, there was no response. Later it was found out that he had died.

Police reached the spot after getting information and inspected the spot. Inquired from people nearby. When the police looked at the footage of the CC camera installed in the street, they saw a suspicious woman wearing a burqa and walking hurriedly.

Through the CCTV camera footage, by late Saturday evening the police reached Gulfsha, a resident of the suspicious woman mohalla Azadnagar. When he was taken into custody and medically examined, scratches and injury marks were found on his chest and stomach.

It became clear that he had suffered injuries during the fight with Rafat Shaheen. During the arrest, the police did not recover any belongings of the deceased’s house from Gulfsha, due to which it is believed that no goods were looted from the house.

Superintendent of Police Vidyasagar Mishra said that Rafat Shaheen was murdered by Gulfsha. He has accepted this. The financial condition of the deceased’s house is weak and no goods have been recovered from the murdered accused, due to which the case of robbery could not be proved. The motive behind the murder is being further investigated.

Murder accused Gulfsha was divorced by her husband three years ago. The woman now lived with her mother in Mohalla Azadnagar. He also has three children. The eldest daughter is nine years old. On the other hand, the body of the deceased was buried in the Idgah cemetery of the city on Sunday. During this time many people of the area were present.
