Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Singh Sogarwal reviewed the ongoing Phase-2 and proposed Phase-3 works in the city under the Chief Minister Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme (CM Grid). In the meeting, construction agencies were instructed to complete the work with quality and within the stipulated time frame.

The Municipal Commissioner said that the CM Grid project will make the city’s transport system smooth, safe and modern, thereby providing better infrastructure to the citizens. At the same time, officials said that the roads of Phase 3 have received financial approval and a government order in this regard is likely to be issued soon.

Under Phase-2, a total of 4.40 kilometers of roads are being developed as smart roads at a cost of Rs 53.68 crore. These include 0.78 km road from Kachhari Square to Kali Mandir, from Shastri Chowk to Chhatra Sangh Square via Ambedkar Chowk, from Ambedkar Chowk to Aishpra Tiraha via Hariom Nagar Tiraha, a total of 2.37 km road from Hariom Nagar to Town Hall via Kachhari Square and 1.25 km road from Shivay Hotel to Vijay Chowk via Agrasen Tiraha. Road widening, dividers, interlocking footpaths, modern street lights and drainage systems will be developed on these routes. Construction work has started.

Phase-3 roads received financial approval
Under CM Grid Phase-3, rejuvenation of three major roads of 5.10 km length is proposed at a cost of about Rs 175.60 crore. This includes the route from Bettiahata Chowk to Alhadadpur Tiraha, from TDM Tiraha to Transport Nagar and from Rain Basera Road to NH-28. Chief Engineer Amit Kumar Sharma said that Phase-3 has received financial approval and the government is likely to issue orders soon.
