Jagran correspondent, Nautanwa. People had not yet completely recovered from the problem of stray dogs in the city, but now the increasing menace of monkeys has further increased the troubles of the townspeople. After coming out of the forests, the monkeys have now made the residential areas their home. Groups of monkeys are visible in almost every locality of the city, due to which the citizens are in panic.

Golu, a resident of Rahul Nagar, said that the entire locality is troubled due to monkeys. It has become difficult to even sit on the terrace. There is no guarantee when a group of monkeys will come and take away the belongings kept in the houses.

The number of monkeys is increasing rapidly

Shambhu Tiwari, resident of Siddharth Nagar, said that earlier monkeys were not seen in the city area, but their number has increased rapidly in the recent past. Monkeys are damaging solar panels, water tanks and trees and plants installed in houses. People are reluctant to go to the terrace even to bask in the sun during cold weather.

Pankaj Jaiswal said that monkeys are taking away goods from shops and houses and damaging solar panels. Shastri Nagar resident Pawan Sharma said that the monkeys are completely destroying the pots and plants on the rooftops.

Many times incidents of people attacking children, women and elderly people are also coming to light. People have demanded the administration to arrest the monkeys and seek a permanent solution. EO Sandeep Kumar Saroj said that the problem will be resolved soon.
