New Delhi: Clouds of uncertainty are looming over the great match between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 to be held in Colombo on February 15. There is panic in the cricket world after Pakistan indicated to withdraw from this match. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla on Sunday clarified the official stand of the Indian Board on this serious issue, making it clear that the ball is now completely in the ICC’s court.

BCCI’s official stand

Rajeev Shukla spoke to the media during a dinner organized at the residence of Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir in New Delhi. He clearly said that BCCI has left this entire matter to ICC. According to Shukla, the Indian board will fully comply with any decision taken by the ICC. This stance of BCCI shows that amidst this political and diplomatic tension, they are keeping themselves away from direct controversy and waiting for instructions from the tournament organisers.

Pakistan’s attitude changed

Pakistan’s decision that it will not play the group-stage match against India in Colombo is a big blow to the sports world. It is being told that Pakistan has taken this step in support of Bangladesh, which had refused to come to India citing security reasons. However, reports have revealed that after talks between ICC and PCB, Pakistan has agreed to play this match.

Team India reached Gautam Gambhir’s house

Amidst the controversies going on outside the field, the Indian team is focusing its full attention on the game. On Sunday evening, the team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir organized a dinner for the entire team at his home in Delhi. The purpose of this informal meeting was to build rapport and enthusiasm within the team ahead of the next match against Namibia. After registering a spectacular win against America, the Indian camp looks quite balanced and the team led by captain Suryakumar Yadav is all set to register its second win at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
