Pair of two brothers in playing eleven
The Italian team is playing in the T20 World Cup for the first time. There is a pair of two brothers in the team. The team’s opening batsmen Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca are brothers. Along with this, Harry Manenti and Ben Manenti are also brothers. All four were part of the playing eleven in the first match against Scotland. Also played four against Nepal. This is the first time in T20 World Cup history that a pair of brothers played together in the playing eleven.
Justin and Anthony led victory against Nepal
Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca were born in Sydney, Australia. His grandfather had migrated from Italy to Australia. The cricket career of both of them started in Australia itself. After playing club cricket there, both brothers reached Italy and in 2022, Anthony made his international debut for Italy. Justin also debuted in the same match. Both of them scored unbeaten fifties against Nepal to help Italy win by 10 wickets.
Ben and Harry have experience of playing in Big Bash
Ben Mananti and Harry Mananti are also from Sydney, Australia. Ben made his Big Bash debut in 2018. He has played for Sydney Sixers as well as Adelaide Strikers. His younger brother Harry has been a part of the Adelaide Strikers for two seasons. Harry made his debut for Italy in 2022, while Ben got the chance to debut in 2023. Harry also captained Italy in the match against Nepal.
