Gujarat Rain Report June 22: Monsoon has already started in the state. Along with the arrival of Meghraja, there have been showers in many districts in the last 24 hours. Meghraja has made a thunderous entry in some parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra Panthak, according to data from the Meteorological Department on June 22.

Valsad, Amreli and Surat received heaviest rainfall

Pardi in Valsad, Savarkundla in Amreli and Bardoli taluka in Surat recorded the highest rainfall in the state during the last 24 hours. All three talukas received about 9 mm (0.35 in) of rain. Due to this rain, the local atmosphere has cooled down.

Situation in Ahmedabad and other districts

Rainy conditions were also witnessed in Detroj-Rampura taluk of Ahmedabad district, where 7 mm (0.28 in) of rain was recorded. In addition, Valsad taluka received 6 mm (0.24 in) of rain and Navsari’s Chikhli received 5 mm (0.20 in).

Elsewhere in south Gujarat, Ambika in Surat received 3 mm (0.12 in) and Navsari city received 1 mm (0.04 in). Although the amount of rain is light now, the farmers are hopeful of good rains in the coming days.

Meteorological department forecast

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, rain showers are likely to occur in various parts of Gujarat in the next 24 hours as well. There may be less rain in some places and more rain in some places. North, Central and Saurashtra regions of Gujarat are likely to receive rain.
