Chaos in Pakistan hockey
The Pakistan Hockey Federation is now in the midst of controversy after the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) provided evidence of payment of more than 10 million Pakistani rupees for hotel booking in Australia for the Pakistani hockey team. The Pakistan hockey team had to wait for 13 to 14 hours at the Sydney airport because neither the PHF nor the PHF had made any arrangement for the players and officials to stay or eat at the airport before taking the flight to Canberra, which led to a lot of criticism from the PHF and the PSB.

Controversy in Pakistan hockey

After reaching Canberra for the FIH Pro League, the Pakistani team did not have a hotel as the PHF had not paid. After traveling 24 hours from Lahore to Australia, the players and support staff reached a four-star hotel where they were told that there was no booking in their names.

Players had to wait a long time

The players had to wait for a long time outside the hotel in Canberra with their luggage, after which the Pakistanis living in Canberra arranged for a cheap AirBnB hotel. The next day, Pakistan lost the first match to Australia.

Sports department gave evidence

PSB has now issued photocopies of checks of Rs 1 crore and Rs 5 lakh made to PHF on January 28 for hotel arrangements. This proves that apart from the air ticket and hotel, PSB had also paid the daily allowance. PHF, on its part, continued to say that the players and officials faced no problems in Australia.

However, this is not the first time that PHF officials have been embroiled in controversy regarding financial matters.
