The opening ceremony of the 2026 T20 World Cup will be held before the match between India and US.
Mumbai: Now less than 24 hours are left for the start of T20 World Cup 2026. This tournament is going to be played hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The first match of the tournament between Pakistan and Netherlands will be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. Team India will also be on the field on the very first day. India is going to face US from 7 pm at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Before this match, the opening ceremony will be organized at Wankhede Stadium.

Who will perform at the opening ceremony?

The opening ceremony will start one hour before the start of the match i.e. at 6 pm. There will be a performance by famous sitar player Rishabh Rikhiram Sharma. He is quite famous on social media. Apart from him, Sivamani will also perform at the Wankhede Stadium. Along with this, famous rapper Badshah and actress Nora Fatehi will also perform in the opening ceremony. ICC announced this by posting on social media.

Stadium gates will open at 4 o’clock

The gates of Wankhede Stadium will open at 4 pm for the match between India and America. Only match ticket holders will be able to attend the opening ceremony. ICC has advised fans to reach the stadium as soon as possible so that the program is not missed. During this time ICC President Jay Shah and former Indian captain Rohit Sharma will also be present. It was under the captaincy of Rohit that India won the last T20 World Cup. This time he has been made the brand ambassador of the tournament.
