Ayushmann Sarathi: Now you don’t have to stand in long queues or wait for hours on helplines for the benefits of government hospitals or health schemes. Union Health Minister JP Nadda has launched ‘Ayushman Sarathi’ WhatsApp chatbot keeping in mind the needs of modern India. Along with this, he has also introduced Arogya Setu 2.0 and other important health schemes.

What is the specialty of Ayushmann Sarathi?

Citizens will be able to avail the services of Ayushman Bharat Yojana 24/7 through this WhatsApp chatbot. Mainly including:

  • Eligibility Check: Whether you are eligible for the scheme or not will be known at home.
  • Card Services: Applying for Ayushman Card, downloading or locking/unlocking the card will be available.
  • Special for Senior Citizens: All operations related to ‘Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card’ for elders above 70 years can now be done on WhatsApp only.
  • Hospital Search: Finding nearby listed hospitals and tracking treatment history will be very easy.

Arogya Setu 2.0: A new digital platform

The new version of Arogya Setu is no longer limited to Covid. This app will now act as a digital health locker. It will enable digital registration in hospitals and save personal health records through ‘scan and share’ facility.

According to Union Minister JP Nadda, this digital initiative aims to build a healthy society for a developed India by 2047. All these services will bring transparency and speed up delivery of health services to common citizens.
