Monsoon has stalled in South Gujarat after its late entry, but will pick up pace again from June 27. Universal rainfall is likely across the state by the first week of July.

1st to 5th July Gujarat may receive universal rainfall
Gujarat Monsoon 2026: The Southwest Monsoon, which is very important for the country’s economy and agriculture, weakened after reaching the coast of Maharashtra on June 8. However, it has arrived in Gujarat 10 days later than the scheduled time yesterday as the monsoon picked up pace. Meanwhile, pre-monsoon showers lashed different parts of Gujarat.
While scattered parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra have received heavy rain for two days. As the rains have taken a break today, many parts of the state, including Ahmedabad, are experiencing unbearable heat and cold throughout the day. The main reason is that the monsoon has stopped after reaching South Gujarat, but after one and a half days it will pick up again and cover the entire Gujarat till the first week of July.

A well-known meteorologist Paresh Goswami said that after monsoon entered Maharashtra, the situation of monsoon break was created. Due to which the monsoon was stopped at one place for a long time. Its progress has again stalled after the entry of Monsoon in South Gujarat yesterday. However, the monsoon break situation in Gujarat will not last much longer as all the factors are favorable for monsoon at the moment. Hence from tomorrow evening or 27th June Monsoon will regain momentum and start advancing.
Rain intensity will increase from June 28, Monsoon will cover entire Gujarat in July
Regarding the round of rains, the weather expert said that now from June 27, the rain system will be active again in Gujarat. The intensity of rain will increase from the next day i.e. June 28. 50 percent of Saurashtra, South Gujarat and Central Gujarat will receive sowing rains in a period of 3 days from June 28 to 30.
While during the first 5 days of the month of July, the monsoon will also cover the rest of the state of Kutch and North Gujarat. During this period, Gujarat may receive universal rains.
There is currently a lull after the arrival of monsoon in South Gujarat, which will resume from June 27. Universal rainfall is likely across the state by the first week of July.
