Digital Desk, Indore. Some local youths of Muslim community aboard the train misbehaved and molested a female passenger and a teenage girl. Based on the complaint, the Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested seven people. POCSO Act has also been imposed on them. After the news of the arrest, there was an uproar in Nagda city. Seeing the increasing chaos, the situation was controlled by deploying heavy police force.
According to the police, on Sunday, four women and men from Dahod (Gujarat) were coming to Ujjain for immersion of ashes. A youth from the Muslim community, between Ratlam and Khachraud, abused and molested the women. When the men traveling with them protested, they beat them up. Not only this, at the next station some of his other friends also came into the train and started fighting.
When the train reached Nagda, RPF personnel took the women and their relatives under their protection. Meanwhile, people from both the communities reached Nagda railway station in large numbers. Seeing the situation of tension between the two communities, the police had to resort to lathicharge. Nearby markets were closed.
The commotion continued in the station premises for two hours on Sunday night. When the complainant started being taken to the hospital for medical treatment, the crowd from the special category moved towards him. The police used mild force and then the crowd dispersed. The police continued to conduct flag marches on the main roads at night.
