A Meta spokesperson said in a statement issued on Sunday that the company is using advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology to proactively track infringing content or people sharing such content. The company admits that some criminals lurk among its massive platform of 3.5 billion users and try to cheat the system, but the fight against them continues.

After this incident, Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is reported to have directed the ministry to summon the Meta officials. The government wants to know how such objectionable ads got on Instagram? Also, serious questions have been raised on the company’s ad review process and content moderation system.
