Following the initiative of the Maharashtra government, changes have been made in the CBSE syllabus. Now students across the country will study the 22 pages of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s valor and good governance in detail.
CBSE Syllabus: The whole of India will now learn about the prowess of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire and the brave warrior, and his administrative skills. After persistent efforts by the Maharashtra government, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a major change in its syllabus.
What has changed?
Till now the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to end in only one and a half columns in textbooks, which has now been increased to 22 pages. Maharashtra Education Minister Dada Bhusey announced this in the Assembly and said that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde discussed the matter with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, after which this decision has been taken.
Marathi Language and State Anthem Compulsory
- Along with this, other strict rules have also been implemented by the state government in the education sector:
- It is mandatory to teach Marathi language in all schools and take exams in Marathi.
- Schools violating the rules will be fined Rs 1 lakh and strict action will be taken up to canceling the registration of the school.
- Now it will also be mandatory to play the Maharashtra State Anthem after the National Anthem in every school.
This decision is being seen as a big step to expose the history and culture of Maharashtra at the national level. Students will now be able to know in detail not only Shivaji Maharaj’s wars, but also his governance and policies.
