After a long break in South Gujarat, Meghraja has made a bang entry, due to which Surat, Navsari and other areas have received heavy rain. The rains have cooled the weather and farmers are happy, although a mud house collapsed in Mahuva.
Gujarat Rain: After a long hiatus, as if Meghraja has kicked up the slack, it has been raining in South Gujarat since last night. Due to the rain that started overnight, the atmosphere has cooled down in the whole of South Gujarat including Surat. The citizens, who have been suffering from unbearable heat and cold for some time now, have got a great relief from this rain like raw gold.
61 mm in Surat city, 60 mm in Kamraj
Monsoon has duly started its banging innings in Surat district since yesterday evening itself. According to the official report of the Surat District Control Room, widespread rainfall has been recorded in most of the taluks of the district today.

Meghraja has batted violently, especially in the early hours of 6 am to 4 pm. The average total rainfall in the district so far has reached 85.42 mm.
According to taluka-wise statistical breakdown of rainfall, Surat city received the highest rainfall in Surat district with 61 mm (2.4 in). Apart from this, 60 mm has been recorded in Kamraj taluk. While Surat city received 44 mm of rain in just two hours from 8 am to 10 am.
Apart from this, 45 mm of rain was recorded in Palsana, 35 mm in Allpad, 33 mm in Choryasi and 30 mm in Mangrol, the feeling of happiness has spread among the farmers.
Bardoli received 39 mm and Mahwa with 25 mm between 10 am and 12 am together with a total of 41 mm till 4 pm. While Umarpada and Areth have received 10 mm each and Mandvi 5 mm. In terms of total rainfall of the season, the highest rainfall of 156 mm has been recorded in Surat city and 152 mm of rain has been recorded in Kamraj. The control room under the guidance of District Collector Tejas Parmar is continuously monitoring the situation.
Heavy rains in Mahuwa caused mud houses to collapse, houses were buried under rubble
The thatched house of Arunbhai Maganbhai Patel and Pareshbhai Maganbhai Patel living in Bidjol village of Mahuwa taluka suddenly collapsed amid the freezing rain since last night. As the building collapsed, the household belongings were buried under the debris, leaving both the families in trouble. However, the matter of relief is that there was no casualty in this incident.
It is known that the car standing in the parking lot was also damaged in this incident. It is learned that an incident report has been conducted by the local authorities and assistance procedures have been initiated.
64 talukas of Gujarat received 4 inches of rain, the highest in Navsari
64 talukas of the state received significant rain from 6 am to 8 pm today. Out of which Navsari city received the highest rainfall of 94 mm (3.7 inches). Apart from this, Savarkundla in Amreli received 79 mm (3.1 inches) and Dharampur in Valsad received 70 mm (2.7 inches). Today, 20 talukas received more than 1 inch of rain and 6 talukas received more than 2 inches of rain throughout the day.
