A state-wide public awareness week is being organized in Gujarat from June 17 to 26 under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ on the occasion of ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse’. So far more than 90 lakh citizens have joined this campaign and citizens have been requested to take oath online.
Gandhinagar News: As part of the ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’ celebrated on June 26 every year, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, on A special public awareness week has been grandly organized from 17th to 26th June under the theme ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – Identity of Developed India’. Under this, the Director of Social Security has made a hearty request for maximum number of citizens of the state to participate in the online swearing process of drug-free awareness to be held till the main day of June 26.
Under which the campaign has now become a strong ‘mass movement’ with the active coordination of local administration, schools, colleges, women’s associations and social organizations in all the districts of the state. Under this campaign, starting from the year 2020, more than 24,000 public awareness activities have been successfully organized across the state. Widespread public awareness has been created through various activities like public awareness rallies, seminars, Nashamukti Rath Bharana, Sign Abhiyan – Signature Campaign, Pledge Programs as well as drawing and essay competitions in schools and colleges and distribution of publicity material through IEC- Information-Education-Communication. Through all these public awareness activities, so far more than 90 lakh estimated citizens of the state have given their splendid and unprecedented support by participating in this excellent campaign.
