On the auspicious occasion of Bhima Agiyaras, Somnath Mahadev was presented with a manoratha of more than 2500 kg of saffron mangoes. These mangoes were distributed by Shree Somnath Trust in Anganwadis of Gir Somnath district for the nutrition of children.
Bhim Agiyaras 2026, Nirjala Ekadashi: Various prasads and manorathas are offered by devotees from home and abroad in the presence of the first Jyotirlinga Sri Somnath Mahadev. Traditionally, on the auspicious occasion of Bhima Agiyaras (Jeth Sud Ekadashi) every year, Somnath Dada is lavishly decorated with saffron mangoes, considered the king of fruits. This year too, a procession of more than 2500 kg of saffron mangoes was carried at Mahadev’s feet.
All these mangoes have been distributed to various Anganwadis of Veraval taluka in the form of Prasad by the Varela Shri Somnath Trust which promotes social upliftment along with religious and devotional activities with the coordination of Gir Somnath District Administration. The Trust has set a fine example of a beautiful combination of devotion and humanity by delivering this sacred prasad of Mahadev to thousands of young children.
