Ahmedabad Science City Planet Earth Pavilion: Planet Earth Pavilion in Ahmedabad Science City is going to get a makeover. For the first time after 14 years, the project, which started in 2012, has been fully upgraded with a budget of around Rs 90 crore. For this, an official tender has also been floated for adding new facilities in a vast area of ​​9500 square meters.

The main attraction will be the ‘Nuclear Science Gallery’.

Under this upgradation project, a new and modern ‘Nuclear Science Gallery’ will be started on the first floor of the pavilion in collaboration with the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) of the government. For the first time in this gallery, visitors will be shown through interactive models how electricity is generated from nuclear energy.

Science will come alive with a digital-mechanical model

The main purpose of this entire upgradation is to transform the exhibits into digital and hand-operated mechanical models, so that visitors can understand the principles of science live.

Apart from this, the pavilion will also feature a brand new ‘Interactive Evolution Simulator’ showing the timeline of the evolution of life on Earth for visitors and a new ‘Carbon Footprint Calculator’ to measure the damage to nature.

New projects will be built in the five-storey pavilion

Five floors of Science City’s Planet Earth Pavilion will be completely modernized, featuring the following:

  • Basement: 4D theatre, Earthquake zone and coal mine will be modernized.
  • Ground Floor: The aquarium, tsunami, hurricane and volcano sections will be upgraded.
  • First Floor: Evolution of Life, Human Anatomy, Biodiversity of Gujarat and new Nuclear Science Gallery will be upgraded.
  • Second Floor: The agriculture department of rocks and minerals will be given a new and attractive look.
  • Third Floor: The inflatable planetarium (constellation), leisure shows and seating areas for visitors will be modernized.
