Almost all the employee organizations are demanding increase in family unit by the 8th Pay Commission. At present the family unit is 3: one unit for employee, 0.8 unit for wife and 0.6 unit for children. It is being demanded to increase it to 4.4 units. According to the federation, if this happens, the fitment factor for level 1 employees will increase from 2.05 to 2.10.
Demand for higher HRA
Most of the employee organizations have demanded higher HRA. AINPSEF proposes to increase HRA to 36 percent for City X, 24 percent for City Y and 12 percent for City Z. Other organizations have demanded 40 percent, 35 percent and 30 percent respectively. He has also sought to merge it with the DA of the 8th Finance Commission.
High TPTA demand
Employee organizations say that the existing transport allowance is inadequate, especially for metro cities. AINPSEF has demanded a minimum TPTA of Rs 9,000 for a Level 1 employee. Other organizations have demanded that TPTA be tripled and it should also be linked with dearness allowance.
