Cybercriminals extorted ₹1.40 lakh from a woman in Ahmedabad on the pretext of booking a doctor’s appointment online. The accused withdrew money from the woman’s son’s bank account by sending a link through an advertisement found on social media.

Then a shocking incident of Rs.1.40 lakh lost from the bank account of a woman’s son while booking a doctor’s appointment has come to light. The woman has filed a complaint in the Isanpur police station.
Contact doctor from social media
According to information, 52-year-old Diptibehan Patel, living in Ghodasar area of the city, was suffering from knee pain. Hence searching for a suitable orthopedic doctor on social media for proper medical treatment. Hence, on June 10, he saw an advertisement of a doctor through social media. The woman contacted the number given in it. In which the opposite person talked about giving 10 rupees as an online booking fee to confirm the appointment.
Fraud while booking an appointment
Gathian said that the woman will transfer online from another phone. Hence Gathia sent a link to the woman asking her to call from another number. In which he asked to fill the details. After that money started being withdrawn from the woman’s son’s bank account. On June 13, in 2 transactions Rs.50 thousand, 50 thousand together became 1 lakh transferred.
