Trai’s big step: Appeal feature will soon be available in DND app, new Mycall app will be launched in March – Trai DND App Appeal Feature March Mycall Myspeed Launch Tech News Hindi

Telecom regulator TRAI is preparing to add appeal feature in its DND app soon. TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said that if a consumer does not find the action of the service provider on his complaint satisfactory, then he will be able to appeal directly to the higher authorities through the app. However, the timeline for when this feature will be added has not been specified at present.

New MyCall app will come in March

Lahoti also informed that a new version of MyCall app will be launched in March. This app will help consumers to lodge complaints related to call quality.

Multi-language support will be available in DND app

TRAI has also introduced new versions of DND and MySpeed apps. The DND app, which is used to report spam calls and SMS, will now come with multi-language support.

According to Lahoti, this feature will make use easier especially in remote and rural areas. Complaints can be filed in regional languages in fewer steps. Besides, better preference management and dual SIM support has also been strengthened.

He said that so far in 2025, 31 lakh complaints of unwanted commercial calls (UCC) were received, out of which 17 lakh i.e. more than half were registered through the DND app. This makes the importance of this app clear. Now users will also be able to know the SMS header or the name of the sender of the 1600 series number through the app.

MySpeed app also upgraded

TRAI has also launched a new version of MySpeed app. This app will now come with multi-language support and will be able to check the speed available on 5G network.

Not just mobile networks, now users will also be able to test the speed of fixed-line broadband and Wi-Fi. Apart from this, a web portal facility has also been provided to check the speed on the laptop.

Real-world testing facility

The new MySpeed app will test network performance in real-world situations like video streaming and web browsing. Apart from speed and latency, the app will now also measure jitter and packet loss. Jitter and packet loss can impact video and Internet experiences, so adding these parameters will prove useful to consumers.
