Google has started a plan to create an AI-driven workplace for its employees through the internal project EAT. According to leaked documents, the company wants to take productivity, collaboration and work-quality to a new level through advanced AI tools, code assistance and automation.
What is Project EAT?
In technical language, eating your own dog food means using your own made products before launching them in the market. On similar lines, Project EAT is being run under Google’s AI and Infrastructure (AI2) unit. Under the leadership of company veteran Amin Vahdat, this unit is working on data centers, AI chips and other basic technologies.
Smart coding and better work-life balance
According to leaked documents, Google is seeing a future where:
Engineering and Coding: State-of-the-art AI tools will improve code quality and reduce routine tasks.
Developer Velocity: In the first 12 weeks of seed stage testing, a tremendous increase in the speed of work has been seen with the help of AI.
Standardization: The use of AI will be made a standard practice throughout the organization, thereby reducing the risk of external AI competition.
Not just work, work culture will also change
Google believes that the inclusion of AI will not only improve the quality of work but will also increase employee engagement and collaboration. The memo claims that this will provide employees with a better work-life balance as AI will take over the burden of difficult and repetitive tasks.
