Umesh Ganpat is a resident of Mahiravani, a small village near Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district of Maharashtra. Most of the people of his village do farming and rear animals and sell milk. His father also used to earn his living by selling milk. In 2001, Umesh studied in a boarding school. He had passed 10th but failed in English in 12th. Frustrated with this, he left boarding school.
