But Bihar’s daughter Shweta Bharti has worked to break this thinking. With a private job of 9 hours a day, she not only cracked the UPSC exam but also became an IAS. Shweta’s success story is an example for those youth who give up their dream of joining civil services due to private jobs.

Chosen the path of UPSC after engineering

Shweta Bharti is a resident of Nalanja district of Bihar. Coming from an ordinary family, Shweta did her schooling from Ishan International Public School, Patna. After this he decided to make a career in engineering. Earned Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering from Bhagalpur Engineering College. But fate had something else in store.

Family responsibility or dream of civil service? choose both

After doing engineering, Shweta was in a dilemma. On one hand the responsibility of family and on the other hand the dream of joining civil services. At that time he took the most difficult decision, which changed his entire life. He chose the job of Wipro so that he could take the responsibility of the family, but did not give up his dream of joining civil services.

It was determination and stubbornness to not give up that gave Shweta the courage to fulfill her dream. She used to work for 9 hours in a private job during the day and come home at night to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. However, it was not easy to find time for preparation along with the job. Still he did not lose hope.

Cracked UPSC CSE exam in first attempt

The clouds of struggle cleared and the dawn of success dawned. Shweta Bharti secured 356th rank in UPSC Civil Services Exam 2021. Coming from a small village in Nalanda district, Shweta was now an IAS officer. He had achieved this success in the first attempt. Presently IAS Shweta Griha is posted as Assistant Collector in Bhagalpur of the state.

Preparing for UPSC exam with a private job was not easy. But one golden rule of Shweta helped her a lot, that is distance from social media. While mentioning this in an interview, he had said that he had distanced himself from social media and online WhatsApp groups. Also stopped using smartphone for some time.
