Nirmala Sitharaman Budget 2026: Promotion of animation, gaming sector, new design institute

The government’s focus is on Orange Economy. The Finance Minister said in the Budget Speech 2026 that the animation, comic, visual effects and gaming sectors need 20 lakh people. Indian Institute of Creative Technology, Mumbai will be supported by the Government of India. So that Content Creators Labs related to animation, comics, visual effects and gaming should be established in 15 thousand schools. Labs will also be built in 500 colleges. A new Indian Institute of Design will also be formed to promote design.
