Vidarbha is no longer just a region of potential, but is set to become the new axis of India’s industrial development. At Advantage Vidarbha 2026, Adani Group Director Jeet Adani projected the region as the next capital of energy, industry and employment. Praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, he said that strong infrastructure and right policies have made Nagpur and Vidarbha an investment hotspot. Jeet Adani made it clear that this change in Vidarbha has not happened suddenly, but it has been possible due to years of policy thinking.
Big bet of Rs 70,000 crore
Jeet Adani said the group’s presence in Vidarbha is not limited to mere transactions, but is a commitment lasting across generations. To strengthen the energy security of Maharashtra, power supply is being ensured through Tirora (3,300 MW) and Butibori (600 MW) power projects. As the most ambitious project of the future, he mentioned the proposed Rs 70,000 crore Integrated Coal Gasification Complex at Linga, Kalmeshwar. This project will not only put Nagpur on the global map of clean energy and chemical industry, but will also generate 30,000 direct employment.
Logistics Hub and Social Concerns
Taking advantage of Nagpur’s central geographical location, the Group is making it the logistics and aviation hub of the country. Vidarbha is becoming a strong logistics gateway through the expansion of MRO facility at MIHAN and ICD at Borkhedi. Additionally, the eco-friendly underground mining project at Gondkhairi will set an example of ‘zero displacement’ and water conservation. Jeet Adani stressed that along with industrial progress, Adani Foundation is taking the benefits of development to every section of the society through education and health.
