1. Opportunity to exchange and save
If you want to buy a new Tesla Model Y by leaving your old petrol or diesel (ICE) car, then the company is giving you an exchange bonus of Rs 3 lakh. Not only this, there is another offer also. If you choose Unsold Stock 2025 (MY2025), there is also a cash discount of Rs 2 lakh available in January 2026. Interestingly, India is the only country in the world where Tesla is offering such a huge exchange bonus.
2. Offer of easy installments
To make buying Tesla Model Y easier than ever, the company has also introduced a finance plan. You can also buy it on easy installments. The company is giving loan for 7 years on down payment of Rs 6 lakh. On this, an installment (EMI) of Rs 49,001 will be made every month at 8.5% interest rate.
3. How have been Tesla’s sales in India so far?
Tesla did not get the success it expected in India. Only 263 units of Model Y have been sold in India till January 2026. This is much less than expected. Initially the company had received 600 bookings, but many of them were cancelled. The biggest reason for low car sales is considered to be its high prices. Electric vehicles of many other companies are available in India at prices lower than this. In such a situation, people are showing more interest in buying them.
4. Tesla Model Y price in India
Tesla Model Y is available in two variants in India. The ex-showroom price of its rear wheel drive (RWD) variant is Rs 59.89 lakh. At the same time, the ex-showroom price of its Long Range RWD variant is Rs 67.89 lakh. Even though people are liking Tesla’s modern technology and looks, the heavy price has kept it away from customers. The company hopes that the exchange bonus of Rs 3 lakh will help in attracting customers.
