If you are a construction worker, even if you do not have an Ayushman Card or Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card, you can avail the benefits of the Construction Workers Critical Illness Assistance Scheme. Not only this, like Ayushman, there is no maximum expenditure limit on treatment under this scheme. With this scheme, you can get treatment for those diseases which are in the panel of Ayushman Bharat scheme. Apart from this, 13 other serious diseases can also be treated.
Who will get the benefit of serious illness assistance scheme?
This scheme is being run under the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Construction workers registered under this scheme can avail the benefits of the scheme. Under this scheme, the Board will bear the entire cost of treatment of construction workers, spouses and their dependent children below 21 years of age in case of serious illness in any government or private hospital recognized by the UP Government or the Central Government.
What are the conditions of Critical Illness Assistance Scheme?
- It is necessary for the construction worker to be a registered beneficiary.
- Ayushman card beneficiaries cannot apply for the scheme
- The benefit of the scheme will be available only to the workers, their spouses and children below 21 years of age.

How to get the benefit of Critical Illness Assistance Scheme
- First you have to register by visiting the official portal.
- Click on labor registration, fill your information and register.
- After this you can apply for the scheme by visiting the portal.
- Select your circle, then select the plan
- Then enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number linked to Aadhaar
- After this the application form will open, fill it and submit it along with the required documents.
- If you want, you can also fill the form by going to the Labor Department office.
