New Delhi: Amidst the chaos in Pakistan, the Indian cricket team is ready to enter the T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament is starting from 7th February. Sri Lanka is co-hosting the T20 World Cup 2026 with India. India is also the defending champion of the tournament. India won the T20 World Cup title in 2024 by defeating South Africa. Till now, no team has been able to win the T20 World Cup twice in a row.

The Indian team has been placed in Group A of the tournament. Apart from India, there are also teams from Pakistan, America, Namibia and Netherlands. India’s first match is against America on 7th February at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After this the team will face Namibia on 12th at Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match between India and Pakistan is to be held in Colombo on 15th February. The match between India and Netherlands will be played on 18 February at Narendra Modi Stadium. There are 4 groups in the T20 World Cup and the top 2 teams of each group will get a place in the Super-8.

The Indian team will enter the 2026 T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav. Akshar Patel has the responsibility of vice-captaincy. The Indian team has not lost a single series since the last T20 World Cup. The team includes world number one T20 batsman Abhishek Sharma as well as number one bowler Varun Chakraborty. There are 8 players in the squad who were part of the last T20 World Cup winning team while 7 new names have got a place.
