Italy’s famous design company Bertone has surprised everyone by introducing its new supercar Runabout. This car does not look like a normal car running on the road, but looks like a luxurious speedboat (boat) running on water. It has been inspired by the design of sea ships. There is also a floating compass (direction indicator) installed on its dashboard. Only 25 units of this unique car will be made worldwide. Let us tell you in detail about the features of this unique car.

boat design

This car is unique in appearance. It has been designed by Andrea Mosselin, who has previously worked in companies like Ferrari and Maserati. The front part of the car is quite low and a roll-hoop is provided at the rear. Its design is like a speedboat. A floating compass has also been provided on the dashboard, so that sitting inside the car feels like a boat. The car is reminiscent of the Autobianchi Runabout, a vintage model from 1969, now brought back with modern technology. It has pop-up headlights reminiscent of old cars and a mesh engine cover at the rear.

Powerful engine and speed

Even though its design is like a boat, its speed is no less than a racing car. This car has a 3.5-litre supercharged Toyota V6 engine. Talking about power output, this engine generates a tremendous power of 468 horsepower. It has a 6-speed manual gearbox, which further increases the thrill of driving it. This car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4 seconds and its top speed is 273 kilometers per hour.

Light weight and fun to drive

A lot of aluminum has been used in making this car, due to which its weight is less than that of a small mini car. Due to its light weight, it is very agile. Customers can buy it in two versions. One Barchetta with a completely open roof and the other with a removable roof panel. It has been named Targa.

Simple and classic interior

While today’s cars have big screens, the interior of the Runabout has been kept quite simple. There are no digital screens or redundant buttons in the cabin. The seats are placed low and the dashboard is finished in aluminium. The interior has been kept simple so that the driver can concentrate completely on driving. This is for those who just want to enjoy driving without any noise.
