Gujarat News Today Live 8 July, 2026 : An important decision has been taken by the district administration as a precautionary measure in view of the continuous heavy rain in Navsari district and the heavy rain forecast given by the Meteorological Department in the coming days. According to which, today on 8 July 2026, all Anganwadis, Primary and Secondary Schools, Colleges and ITIs of Navsari district. A holiday has been declared in institutions. The concerned institutions have been instructed to continue the online education work wherever possible so that the studies of the students are not affected. Navsari district administration requests the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains, take precautions and follow the instructions issued by the district administration and meteorological department.
All departments geared up to meet possible rain conditions across the state
A high level meeting of ‘Weather Watch Group’ was held under the chairmanship of Relief Director Subhash Savalia at the State Emergency Operation Center-SEOC in Gandhinagar today in view of the progress of monsoon in the state and the chances of rain in the coming days. In this meeting, a comprehensive review of the administration’s preparedness with a zero casualty approach against potential disasters during monsoons was conducted. Relief Director Subhash Savalia has instructed all the departments to immediately report to the control room in case of any emergency through mutual coordination. According to the forecast of the meteorological department, the state government is taking necessary action by continuously monitoring the rain situation in the coming days.
368 out of 370 feeders have been restored after heavy rain in Amreli district
192 teams of PGVCL have restored power supply to more than 80 villages in Amreli district to restore power services disrupted due to heavy rains. Repair of 368 feeders out of 370 affected by rain and over 380 power poles out of 397 damaged have been completed. Of the 32 affected transformers in Amreli and Gir Somnath, 30 have been made operational.
