Gujarat News Today Live 7 July, 2026 : The ‘Sardar Patel National Unity Award – 2026’ instituted by the Central Government for the noble purpose of further promoting the unity and integrity of India and to honor the citizens or organizations who have made distinguished and significant contributions in this field will be awarded. Any citizens, institutions and organizations of the country who are eligible for this award will be notified on the next date. By 31 July, 2026 only nominations or recommendations can be sent in the prescribed format available at the online portal www.awards.gov.in.

Bike rider dies due to falling tree in Shinor, Vadodara
An unfortunate incident has come to light in Shinor Panthak of Vadodara district due to Meghraja’s raudra form and stormy winds. A man died tragically when a giant tree fell on a couple who were passing by on a bike on the Kukus-Sadhali road amid heavy rain and howling winds. Following this incident, a feeling of mourning has spread throughout the area.
Increase in water level of Narmada Dam
Due to heavy rains, 28,171 cusecs of water has flowed into Sardar Sarovar Dam from upstream. The level of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam has reached 126.64 meters at 10 am today due to water coming in from upstream. The dam currently holds 6,151.77 MCM of water, which is 65.03 per cent of the total storage capacity, with a rise in water level of 18 cm in the last 24 hours. A total of 8,046 cusecs of water has been released by the system into the canal and the river.
59 gates of Shetrunji Dam in Bhavnagar were opened 0.45 m
Shetrunji Dam is 100 percent full due to heavy rain in Bhavnagar district and torrential rain in the upper reaches. 59 gates .045 meters have been opened and 9440 cusecs of water has been released today at 4.30 am keeping the water income in the dam. Due to which the low-lying areas have been cautioned.
Action under PBM Act against sellers of repeated duplicate fertiliser-seeds
The state government has turned a red eye against the elements causing financial loss and cheating the farmers of Gujarat. Regarding this action, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani said that strict action has been taken against those responsible after the investigation into the sale of duplicate fertilizer in Amreli district. In which, taking into account the seriousness of the crime, a case has been registered against a total of 4 individuals involved in it under the ‘PBM Act’, they have been detained and sent to jail.
